Mustard seeds have been cultivated in China and the Indus Valley since 4000 BC and mustard–made from mixing mustard seeds and vinegar–has been around since Ancient Rome. The first recipe for mustard appears in a Roman cookbook from the fourth or fifth century called “De Re Coquinaria”, which translates to “On the Subject of Cooking”. In the recipe, the mustard is made with mustard seeds, pepper, honey, vinegar, and an assortment of herbs. For meat lovers, our selection of cold meats is a carnivore's dream. Sold in an iconic stoneware jar, Pommery’s Moutarde de Meaux has been made in the city of Meaux since the 1700s. Pommery’s original mustard is a grainy, stone-ground mustard that has a richer and deeper flavor than Dijon. In addition to their traditional recipe, Pommery also has variations made with ingredients like honey, cognac, fig, truffle, or green peppercorn. There is also a more finely ground version, called “fine” that’s a traditional Dijon. After it's done in the slow cooker, remove it from the slow cooker and put it into an oven safe dish.

I'm excited to be working with Mirum again to bring you this recipe showing you how to cook a ham in a slow cooker using Maille® Honey Dijon Mustard and Maille® Old Style Mustard! It's really easy and all of the ingredients, you can buy them all at Walmart! I have always wanted to try to make a spiral cut ham in a slow cooker with a honey mustard glaze. Let me just say it turned out amazing! Use a small knife to remove the rind from the gammon join, leaving the fat intact. Score the fat in a diamond pattern. Optional: Push a clove into the centre of each diamond to make your gammon extra special this festive season. Brush a third of the honey mustard glaze all over the joint and place in a shallow baking tray, cover with foil and place in the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes (or 20 minutes per 500g of gammon). Below, we’ve rounded up the best French mustards, from familiar favorites to hard-to-find boutique brands. Pommery

Mustard first came to Paris in the 10th century, when the monks of Saint Germain des Pres began using imported mustard seeds to create their own concoction. By the 13th century, the city of Dijon had become a mustard hub, and it remains the mustard capital of the world, along with the French city of Meaux.

I used Maille Honey Dijon Mustard and Maille Old Style Mustard. It was a perfect combination of the mustards along with the honey, melted butter, brown sugar and fresh thyme. Edmond Fallot has been crafting world-class French mustard at their family-run mustard mill in Burgundy since 1840. Today, the business sells vinegar, relish, and mustard in plenty of varieties and flavors. Edmond Fallot’s traditional mustards are a creamy Dijon-style mustard and a whole grain variety made with whole mustard seeds. In addition, specialty flavors include walnut, basil, honey, fig, and more. The sweet and salty from the honey dijon mustard and the crisp whole seeds from the old style mustard made both mustards essential to this recipe and of course it tastes great! When it's time to sweeten the deal, turn to our fresh and juicy fruits. Whether you're into crisp apples, succulent berries, or tropical delights, our fruit selection is a vibrant bounty of nature's sweetness.

Brush each of the brussel sprouts with the dijon glaze and then place the tray in the oven to bake. They should take approximately 30 minutes to bake and are done when the bacon is crisp and the brussel sprouts are tender. Half way through baking remove from the oven and brush with more glaze before continuing to bake. While France is most famous for Dijon-style mustard, you can also find whole-grain mustard and honey mustard along with other various flavors, styles, and variations that are unique to France.
