No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. The goblin throws the flag, which shrinks to Fairyland size as Rachel picks it up, but then he notices it’s only his reflection that’s purple and charges at the girls. Rachel's grandma found the flag and thought it was a scarf, so the girls and the goblins are racing who's going to get the flag from Rachel's grandma.

This is the fifth of seven books in the Fun Day Fairies series by the group of authors who go by the name Daisy Meadows. Handy series in that it teaches the days of the week; activities are pretty varied as each fairy is simply responsible for making their day of the week fun. The girls hastily offer to fetch it and rush to find a goblin playing with the flag, wearing it different ways and admiring himself in the reflection in the glass side door. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.

Rachel’s mother greets Gran and goes to look in the kitchen again, still not finding the ingredients they need. There are seven Fun Day fairies and they are: Megan the Monday Fairy, Tallulah the Tuesday Fairy, Willow the Wednesday Fairy, Thea the Thursday Fairy, Freya the Friday Fairy, Sienna the Saturday Fairy and Sarah the Sunday Fairy. At Kirsty’s suggestion, Freya turns the goblin’s reflection the same purple as the flag and claims the flag has turned him purple while the girls tease him. March 2012 update: our youngest is now immersing herself in this series and is reading them very quickly, too. Nasty Jack Frost is back again, this time stealing the Fun Day flags, and now everyone is quite miserable, as the Fun Day Fairies can't do their job of making each day fun!

She has published over 100 children's books, including the following series: The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Magic Key, Frightful Families, and Oliver Moon. She wears a dark purple, bell-sleeved dress, a lilac belt with a heart-shaped buckle around her waist, knee-length boots, and lilac tights. Rachel explains, and Freya warns her there are several goblins around, including two she saw by the back door. The girls and Gran enjoy making gingerbread with some fairy shaped cookie cutters provided by Friday Fun Day magic. Rachel and Kirsty are planning to make gingerbread men for when Rachel’s gran visits on a windy Friday, but they can’t find flour, eggs, or the cookie cutter.

She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies.

Felicity has brownish blonde hair, and she has a purple shirt that matches her boots and her leggings. My friend Felicity and I got this book because it was her name and for every picture we colored it in. She says she almost felt like someone was following her on the way there, while Rachel notices a silky lilac scarf around her neck.
